As a Soccer Dad with a family of four club soccer players I have traveled to my share of soccer practices, games and tournaments. Every time the kids would get ready in the car to put on their soccer cleats and the rest of their soccer gear our car would fill up with this unusual odor. Sure enough it was a cross between foot odor, sweat, mildew and worn leather. You know what I mean as there really are no words to describe it.
In addition, one of my daughters is a goal keeper and her goal keeper gloves compounded the "soccer smell" as well. Sometimes we would have to roll down the windows of the car if we were car pooling with their teammates as well.
It was the case of the "soccer smell". We have spent hundreds of dollars on cleats, shin guards and gk gloves. Many times they were thrown out due to the odor versus being worn out.
Another case in point with Soccer Gear is the moisture that buids up after each practice or game or if they played on wet fields. There was no way to efffectively dry out their gear in between games during a tournament or during the time between their weekly soccer practices. Because gloves and cleats are closed end garments there is no single way to just let them dry out on their own. As a former player as well it was quite unpleasant playing in wet gear especially when competing in Tournaments and away from home.
My wife and I have tried the 'kitty liter' and "newspaper" thing, but those really never worked in drying out and removing the bacteria that created the unpleasant "soccer odor' nor dried out their gear in time for the next practice or game.
Our solution was found and we have created the Soccer Dryer. When the kids get home from practice they place their soccer cleats, shin guards and goal keeper gloves on their Soccer Family Dryer, set the timer and in just a couple of hours their gear is dry and for the most part the odors are eliminated. If we are at a tournament, camp or going with another teammate they take their Soccer Player Dryer with them and have it with them at all times as the Dryer conveniently fits in their soccer backpacks. They are able to dry out their gear in between games.
They work great and with all of the "soccer smell" experience I have had we recommend the Soccer Dryers at www.soccerdryer.com. They can warm up your gear and be ready to use when the kids are ready to compete in their next game or practice.
